Wallfahrtsstätte Eremitage (Kapelle)

Zu der mehr als 300 Jahre alten und unter Denkmalschutz stehenden 'Wallfahrtsstätte Eremitage' auf dem Rödgen gehören u.a. eine Kapelle, eine Eremitenklause, ein Heiligenhäuschen samt Eremitengrab, ein Kreuzweg sowie ein Waldaltar. Hier wird bis heute die Tradition der Marienwallfahrten gepflegt.

Der Baustil der im Jahre 1684 errichteten Kapelle erinnert an die Renaissance, vereint zudem aber auch Elemente der Gotik. In der Kapelle befindet sich ein Barockaltar von 1736. Die Eremitenklause zählt zu den ältesten Fachwerkbauten des Siegerlandes. Die Umfriedung des Wallfahrtshofes mit den einzelnen Kreuzwegstationen und dem Waldaltar sorgt für einen eindrucksvollen Andachtsraum in freier Natur.
