The dominant feature above the Mikulov silhouette is the Holy Hill (Svatý Kopeček) (363 m above sea level). One of the hills of the Pavlov Hills is a natural conservation area with rare species of fauna and flora. At the top leading the cross way leads us to the pilgrimage chapel of St. Sebestian, the bell tower, and the grave of God.

Svatý kopeček (363 m n. m.) je jeden z kopců Pavlovských vrchů. Nalézá se zde množství zákonem chráněných druhů rostlin, proto byl již v roce 1946 vyhlášen botanickou rezervací a od roku 1992 přírodní rezervací. Na jižních svazích roste druhově pestrá skalní step (kosatec nízký, kavyl Ivanův, ožanka horská). Východní svahy pokrývají křoviny s dominantním hlohem, severní svahy byly v minulosti zalesněny. Na stepích se hojně vyskytuje teplomilný hmyz. K nejpopulárnějším obratlovcům Svatého kopečku patří výr velký hnízdící ve stěně opuštěného lomu.

Opening times

Na Svatý kopeček je možné vystoupat celoročně.

Kostel sv. Šebestiána otevřen každý prázdninový víkend v sobotu 10.00 - 16.00 a neděli 10.00 - 14.00 hodin.

Vždy první zářijový víkend se koná Mariánská pouť na Svatý kopeček.
