St. Michael's Chapel in Donzdorf, near the paragliding launch site, was built from boulders. It commemorates the sons of Dr. Georg Baur who died in the war and is dedicated to St. Michael, the spiritual guide of the dead.
St. Michael's Chapel in Donzdorf, idyllically situated at the paragliding launch site, is a small church built from boulders. It was commissioned by Dr. Georg Baur and his wife in memory of their sons who died in the war. The chapel was designed by the mother and realized by a stonemason friend. It is dedicated to St. Michael, who in the Old Testament is regarded as the spiritual guide of the dead and symbolizes protection and comfort. St. Michael's Chapel is a quiet place of remembrance and contemplation, nestled in the picturesque landscape, which is also a popular spot for paragliders. The simple construction of natural boulders gives the chapel a special, unpretentious charm and invites visitors to find a moment of peace and contemplation.
