A peaceful place of contemplation on the Nottwilerberg.
On the border between Nottwil and Ruswil, in Rütli near the Stöcken, the original river chapel was built in 1678 by the farmer Niklaus Anderes. It was completely renovated inside and out in 1798 by the chapel's founder, who also donated a forest brothers' house for a congregation of hermits in 1815. They looked after the chapel for 100 years and rang the English salute three times a day.
