Die Kapelle wurde im Jahre 2004 von der Familie Heinz Thönnissen errichtet. Sie steht dort, wo einst der Mühlenbach floss, welcher die Orsbecker Pletschmühle und weitere Mühlen mit Wasser versorgte.
