Near Seesbach, Johannes Bückler (1779-1803), better known by the name "Schinderhannes," temporarily had his hideout.

Near Seesbach, Johannes Bückler (1779-1803), better known by the name "Schinderhannes," temporarily had his hideout. He was born in the Hunsrück and also caused trouble here; his actual residence was the Schmidtburg above the Hahnenbach. This cave, measuring just 13 meters, was said to have only served the robber as a hiding place in times of danger.

It is located in the Hunsrück, about one kilometer west of the former airfield Pferdsfeld and about two kilometers northeast of Seesbach in the Hoxbachtal (also called Gaulsbachtal).
