According to legend, the small little cave located near the Rotach close to Ittenhausen was inhabited by the Gehrenmännle.
According to the traditional legend, it is about a traumatized farmer from the foot of the Gehrenberg who lost his farm and family during the Thirty Years' War in an act of violence by soldiers and spent the rest of his life hiding in a hole in the Borehole near Ittenhausen.
