Teils im Stil eines französischen Lustschlösschens, teils nach dem Vorbild der herrschaftlichen Villen Oberitaliens entworfen, verbindet es barockes Repräsentationsbedürfnis und rustikale Behaglichkeit auf harmonische Weise. Ebenso wie Schloss Hof war auch Schloss Niederweiden einst im Besitz von Prinz Eugen, bevor es Kaiserin Maria Theresia erwarb.
