The foundation of the castle was set back in the 16th century. Hugo von Montfort-Rothenfels used the magnificent building as both a council and as his official residence. The rooms of the Historant, where freshly prepared dishes of the Allgäu cuisine are served, still bear witness to their lively past. Today the castle is a meeting place – for locals as well as for guests.
Surrounded by the elegant architecture of this historic building, events like concerts, theater or cabaret take place throughout the year. The castle hall is also available for private celebrations and conferences. The workshops, offered by experts from a variety of fields, are particularly popular because the participants can get creative themselves – there are even special workshops for children!
Inspiration and lovely gifts for the living room can be found in the adjacent store. As in the entire castle, creativity and craftsmanship are a priority to the owners.
