Mitten in Globasnitz überrascht den Besucher eine fast unwirkliche romantische Schlossanlage: Hinter einem Torbau mit Doppelturm, Gusserker und Kragsteinfries mit allerhand Stuckornamenten, darunter auch Büsten, erhebt sich ein traumhaftes Gebilde wie aus Zuckerguss, bei dem Assoziationen mit Disneyland durchaus berechtigt sind. Mit dem von elf Türmchen, drei Erkern und 49 bleiverglasten Fenstern gezierten Gebäude, das innen eine Kuppel mit Spiegelapplikationen und kunstvoll verzierte Nussholztüren birgt, hat sich der Bauherr Johann Elbe seit nunmehr fast 25 Jahren sein persönliches Schloss geschaffen, für dessen Besichtigung er auch eifrig wirbt.
