Dieses ehemalige Jagdschloss war die erste Grablege Eberhard im Barts. Im 17. Jahrhundert erfolgte eine Neugestaltung.
Schloss Einsiedel liegt mitten in einer Lichtung des Schönbuchs. Seine Geschichte ist eng mit der des württembergischen Herzogshauses verbunden, dem die Anlage noch heute gehört. Kein geringerer als Graf Eberhard im Bart (1445-1496) ließ das Jagdschloss am Standort einer ehemaligen Einsiedlerklause bauen. Ursprünglich entstand ein mehrstöckiger Bau nach italienischer Art mit flachem Dach (altrosa). Am 25. Mai 1619 brannte ein Teil des Jagdschlosses ab, den Auftrag für den Wiederaufbau erhielt der berühmte Baumeister Heinrich Schickhardt. Diese Bauphase, aus der die meisten noch bestehenden Gebäude (schwarz umrandet) stammen, ist in dunklerem Rot dargestellt. Seit 1960 haben die katholischen Kirchenbezirke Reutlingen und Tübingen das Gebäude gepachtet, sie betreiben dort ein Jugendheim. Wanderer lädt eine Gartenwirtschaft des Albvereins zur Rast. Dabei kann man über das Wahrzeichen des Einsiedels, einen Weißdorn in der Mitte des Hofes, sinnieren. Der Legende nach brachte Graf Eberhard im Bart den Ableger, aus dem der Vorläufer des heutigen Baumes spross, höchstpersönlich 1468 von seiner Fahrt ins Heilige Land mit. Im 17. Jahrhundert hatte sich der Weißdorn auf circa 32 Meter in der Runde ausgebreitet, 40 Steinsäulen stützten seine Äste. Bald darauf ging die originale Pflanze zwar ein, ihre Tradition lebte jedoch in Neuanpflanzungen fort. Einst stützten die behauenen Sandsteine, die heute als Tischfüße im Innenhof des Schlosses dienen, die Äste des ursprünglichen Weißdorns.

Public transport

Der Bahnhof Kirchentellinsfurt liegt direkt an der Bahnverbindung Stuttgart–Tübingen. Entweder sie nehmen einen ca. 1,5–stündigen Fußmarsch (Bahnhof – Shelltankstelle – Autobahnanschlußstelle Kirchentellinsfurt – Einsiedelsteige – über die Felder zum Hofgut) in Kauf, oder sie können beim Busunternehmen Kern, Tel. 07121/68666 einen Bus zum Hochfahren mieten. Die Fa. Kern bietet Busse in versch. Größen an.

Directions

Die Anreise erfolgt über die im Neckartal verlaufende, autobahnähnlich ausgebaute B 27 – entweder aus Fahrtrichtung Tübingen oder aus Fahrtrichtung Stuttgart. In beiden Fällen verlassen Sie die B 27 an der Ausfahrt Kirchentellinsfurt. Ab da folgen Sie den Schildern "Einsiedel" (weiß auf braun): die Steige hoch, die Straße entlang bis zum Hofgut. Dort achten Sie auf die Schilder: Jugendhaus Schloss Einsiedel.

Mit dem Reisebus:

Gleiche Anreise wie mit dem PKW. Die Strecke ist bis vor die Haustüre Bus–geeignet. Problemlose Wendemöglichkeit direkt vor dem Jugendhaus.
