Schleißheim Castle

The Schleissheim Palace complex consists of the new castle, the old castle, the Lustheim Palace and a big courtyard garden.

The entire place is a complex of three individual chateau buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries in Baroque style. A huge garden/park connects the new castle with the old one and Lustheim Castle. All three castles can be visited and the palace garden invites you to stroll around and enjoy a picnic in the green. In the park there are various pavilions, statues, a fountain and large meadows with colourful flowers.

Opening times

Current opening hours and information on guided tours can be found on the website of the Bavarian Palace Administration. All properties are closed on the following days: 1 January, Carnival Tuesday, 24th, 25th and 31st of December.

Public transport

Coming from the city centre, take the train (S-Bahn) towards Freising and get off in Oberschleissheim.

Now either on foot: Cross Rotdörnstraße and head south, then turn left into Lehrer-Wittmann-Straße and follow it to the Castlecafe. After this approx. 12 min walk we reach the castle complex.

Or by bus: Take line 295 or 292 to the stop “Schloss” (castle).

Directions

Oberschleißheim is located in the north of Munich and can be reached via the highway A92 and A99 (exit Neuherberg). The main roads B13 and B471 also lead to Oberschleissheim.
