The two-storey castle is a rectangular solid building with a high pitched roof, four five-sided corner towers and richly curved volute gables. The year MDCLXXXVI (1686), the year the building was constructed, is emblazoned above the main portal on the south side. There used to be rooms for spa guests on the first floor, which were later converted back to residential use.
The aristocratic residence has remained largely unchanged and is an impressive example of the simple but representative country aristocratic style of the late 17th century. The complex illustrates how architecture, nobility and the healing springs landscape of Jebenhausen came together.
The castle is still privately owned by the von Liebenstein family. It is not open to the public, but its striking silhouette and location on the western edge of the village are reminiscent of a time when Jebenhausen was both an esteemed spa town and aristocratic retreat.
