An der Stelle einer vorgeschichtlichen Fliehburg wurde an exponierter Lage auf einem großen Nagelfluhfelsen im 14. Jahrhundert das Hohe Schloss erbaut und im Verlauf einiger Besitzerwechsel mehrfach um- und ausgebaut.
Das Hohe Schloss ist nicht öffentlich zugänglich. Es finder aber neben regelmäßigen Führungen, auch hin und wieder Ausstellungen, Konzerte sowie Trauungen statt. Neben dem Hohen Schloss befindet sich als beliebter Ausflugsort der Kreislehrgarten, von dem aus ein schöner Blick über Bad Grönenbach genossen werden kann.
