Bau aus dem frühen 16. Jh.

Das Amstenrather Haus wird auch schlicht „Herrenhaus“ genannt. Allein die Lage unweit des Dorfweihers ist faszinierend. Wassergräben schützen den Bau aus dem frühen 16. Jh. Sein heutiges Aussehen erhielt das von den Herren von Eynatten errichtete Herrenhaus erst 1709. Damals hatten bereits die Herren von Amstenrath die Burg übernommen.

Eine dreibogige Brücke, die die ehemalige Zugbrücke ersetzt, führt auf den Torpavillon mit dem schlichten Portal zu. Ein wuchtiger quadratischer Turmbau flankiert den Pavillon zu beiden Seiten. Auf der Rückseite weitet sich der Wassergraben zu einem Weiher, auf dessen Fläche sich das Herrenhaus samt hoher Trauerweiden spiegelt. Nur wenige Fenster öffnen die Außenmauern aus Bruchkalkstein. Wetterfahnen ragen auf den steilen Walmdächern stolz empor. Ein gepflegter Park umgibt das kompakte Herrenhaus mit den Wassergräben und trägt zum romantischen Gesamtbild bei.
