Das Palais kann im Rahmen einer Gästeführung besichtigt werden, welche gern im Vorab in der Zabeltitz-Information gebucht werden kann. Das Alte Schloss ist nicht öffentlich zugängig.
Das Alte Schloss wurde unter Kurfürst Christian I. und nach dessen Tode unter seinem Sohn Christian II. von 1588 - 1598 im Renaissancestil errichtet. Es diente ursprünglich als Stallgebäude für die Pferde und für die Unterbringung der erlauchten Gäste mit ihrem Gefolge bei den großen kurfürstlichen Jagden in den vormals weiten Wäldern des Schradenwaldes. Das 84 m lange Alte Schloss ist vollständig erhalten. Heute befinden sich im Alten Schloss ein sehr stilvolles Standesamt sowie ein Arztzentrum. Der Schlosssaal eignet sich hervorragend für außergewöhnliche Veranstaltungen. Für Kulturveranstaltungen und Tagungen stehen zahlreiche Räume und ein Cafe zur Verfügung.

Mit der Bahn von Dresden Hbf. Richtung Elsterwerda bis Haltepunkt Zabelitz ca 15 min Fußweg bis Ortsmitte.
