Die Illach ist ein etwa 23 Kilometer langer Zufluss des Lechs. Gespeißt wird der Fluss von vielen Gebirgsbächen, ehe sie die Gemeindegebiete von Wildsteig und Rottenbuch durchquert. Bei Steingaden müdet die Illach schließlich unterhalb der Lechstaustufe drei in den Lech.
