Medieval bridge over the Celeiro River at the exit of Sarria
As you leave the Jacobean town of Sarria and head towards Portomarín, you immediately encounter the Celeiro River. To cross it, the Áspera Bridge has been used since the Middle Ages, preserving its granite ashlar arches, with cutwaters pointing upstream to relieve water pressure on the base, while the rest is constructed with slate.
