Bereits im römischen Reich vor rund 2'000 Jahren war der Julierpass von grosser Bedeutung. Auf der Passhöhe stehen noch heute zwei Säulen eines römischen Heiligtums.

Heute ist die Passstrasse am Julier die wichtigste Strassenverbindung ins Engadin und ganzjährig befahrbar. In der Umgebung des Juliers finden Sie zahlreiche Wander- und Bikerouten auf welchen sich die Landschaft ideal erkunden lässt. Vom Julierhospitz aus beginnt die Exploratour oder die Wanderung zum klaren Bergsee Leg Grevasalvas.
