In the more humid places viola odorata, salepi, mint, aromatic wild strawberries and blueberries are to be found whereas in the clearings and highlands tea, amaranth, musk, oregano, dwarf (a kind of grass), the fragrant "tear of the Virgin" (Lily of the valley) are common.
In the spring, white ladybugs bloom in the rivers, with which the locals used to dress the epitaph in Orthodox Easter. The slopes are overgrown with red, purple and white anemones.
In early autumn the earth is filled with suffron (called drive-away by the locals). They are so named because they bloom when holidaymakers and ranchers leave for the winter marking the end of summer. They also bloom in early spring, erupting impatiently under the last snow, signaling the end of winter.
