Der Weißensee bietet ein kostenfreie Badestelle mit großer Liegewiese und einem schönen Spielplatz.

Mit einer Länge von 2,4 Kilometern, einer mittleren Breite von knapp 600 Metern und einer Tiefe bis zu 25 Metern bedeckt der Weißensee eine Fläche von 1,35 Quadratkilometern. Seine Entstehung verdankt er den Eiszeiten und besonders dem Lechgletscher.

Renken, Zander, Hechte, Aale, Schleien, Saiblinge, Seeforellen und Karpfen leben in ihm, während sich auf ihm Schwäne, Haubentaucher, Blässhühner und mehrere Arten Wildenten tummeln.

Romantiker finden am Weißenseerundweg viele einsame Orte, um die Natur zu genießen. Unser Tipp ist der Ruhegarten unterhalb der Kirche St. Walburga.

Bei Familien mit Kindern ist die am Westufer gelegene Badestelle Weißensee mit seicht abfallendem Ufer, sonnigen Liegewiesen, Kinderspielplatz, Gastronomie, Tischtennis und Bewegungsparcours beliebt. Außerdem gibt es einige kleinere Badeplätze am Nordufer und auch Surfer und Stand-up-Paddler nutzen den See.

Die Badestelle Weißensee ist kostenfrei zugänglich. Die benachbarten Parkplätze sind direkt über die B 310 anzufahren.
