Pieni ja viihtyisä Varvin uimaranta sijaitsee reilun kilometrin päässä Raahen keskustasta ja sieltä avautuu upea maisema suoraan Raahen saaristoon. Rannalla on pukukoppi, wc, nuotiopaikka, hiekkaranta, p-paikka lähellä, kiikut, frisbee golf –koreja, eli sopii mainiosti lapsiperheille. Osittain hiekkapohja.

Nimensä kaupunginosa on saanut alueella 1800-luvulla sijainneista telakoista eli varveista joissa rakennettiin laivoja seilaamaan maailman meriä. Rannan läheisyydestä alkaa myös Varvin luontopolku. Alueelta löytyy myös aktiivisen Varvi-Välikylä kyläyhdistyksen ylläpitämä kota jota voi myös vuokrata.
