Direkt vor den Toren Rosenheims liegt in südlicher Richtung ein schönes Naherholungsgebiet, das aus mehreren Seen besteht. Als Badesee für die Bevölkerung wird hauptsächlich der Happinger-Au-See genutzt. Er bietet mehrere Einstiegsstellen mit Kiesstrand und einen kleinen FKK-Bereich.
