Freilinger Lake – Nature, Water & Time Out in the North Eifel
Freilinger Lake near Blankenheim is your place for relaxation, activity, and true nature moments in the North Eifel. Nestled among forests and meadows, the lake combines high water quality with a variety of recreational opportunities, all while being peacefully located and actively experienceable. Whether on the water or by the shore: At Freilinger Lake, you can tailor your day to your own pace. Windsurfing, paddling, rowing, or diving will get you moving, while swimming (at your own risk) offers a refreshing cool down. Fishing is also possible – with fishing permits available on site. Spacious sunbathing meadows invite you to sunbathe, read, or picnic. For a small hunger, there is a kiosk with snacks.
Paths lead through the landscape around the lake, including a marked Nordic walking trail and various hiking and cycling paths. The Eifel Loop "Freilinger Lake" leads directly past it.
If you wish to stay longer, the nearby Eifel Camp offers overnight accommodations. You can also rent grilling areas in advance – perfect for spending quality time with family or friends.
For your vacation with a dog, there is a designated area, including a dog beach. This way, four-legged friends can also enjoy their time by the water.
Freilinger Lake is a reservoir from the 1970s and is fed by fresh spring water. Its tranquil valley location and the surrounding landscape make it a special place for your time out in the North Eifel.
