The sculpture is part of the Jockgrim art path. The beautiful place in the South Palatinate has numerous works of art in public spaces. The most important sculptures by renowned artists have been compiled into an art path under the professional supervision of the Curatorial Board for Art and Monument Preservation (Zehnthaus).

Like a mythological artifact, the sculpture by the sculptor Klaus Großkopf rises high. With precise pre-planning and based on a scaled-down
model, he created the two-part work from two inclined stelae forming the pedestal and an oval halo disk with a central opening. By positioning it in an east-west direction, there is the possibility that at both sunrise and sunset, light breaks through the opening, becoming concentrated or diffused depending on the position of the sun. This fact and the resulting layers of interpretation evoke both archaic and metaphysical associations, symbolizing the coming and going of life, just like the course of the sun.

Your way to Jockgrim
You can reach Jockgrim station using public transport via the S-Bahn lines S51 and S52 from Germersheim and Karlsruhe. The art trail starts opposite the station in the Bürgerpark.
By car, you can reach Jockgrim via the A65 (Kandel-Mitte exit) or the B9 (Rheinzabern or Jockgrim exit) and drive into the town center.
Parking is available at the Bürgerhaus Jockgrim.
Cyclists can enjoy a beautiful route along the Rhine cycling path/Vélo-route Rhin. An electric bike charging station can be found at the parking lot of the association municipality administration.
