At the Great Labus Lake near the village of Zwenzow near Wesenberg there is a wolf trapping pit.
When in 1710 in Userin 22 sheep were torn by wolves in the stable, one created this wolf catching plant. After the wolves were exterminated, this facility fell into disrepair and has now been restored as a historic facility. However, it is now so shallow that no animal can be caught with it.
The pit has a diameter of about 4 meters and was originally so deep that no captured wolf could escape from it. In the middle of the pit there is a stake on which a bait was fixed. Among other things, live chickens were used as bait. Now the pit was covered so with brushwood, grasses and tree bark that no wolf could suspect. Had now a passing wolf scent of the bait taken up, it tried this to catch. It fell then into the pit and could not free itself from it any longer. For the farmers it was now easy to kill the wolf.
