The Via Roma, which dates back to the Middle Ages, has gone by many names: Contrada Maestra, via Nizza, Via Imperiale or Platea. Numerous interpretation panels explain the history of the palaces that line it.
Via Roma 32 was home to Paganino Dal Pozzo's warehouse. Inscriptions, including a date, have been preserved on the arcades. On the side of the square, a wall plaque refers to the gabelle (salt tax).
