Der Saarkran unterhalb der Wilhelm-Heinrich-Brücke ist Zeugnis der blühenden Handelsgeschichte der Stadt Saarbrücken. Im Jahre 1761 nach Plänen Stengels von der Krahnen-Gesellschaft errichtet, wurde er nach mehrfacher Zerstörung 1991 durch Spenden wieder aufgebaut.
Der Ausleger mit dem Fässchen und dem Vogel muss wieder restauriert werden und wurde aus Sicherheitsgründen entfernt
