Gerrit T. Rietveld, Roodblauwe Stoel - 1918

Rietvelds Roodblauwe Stoel gilt als Schlüsselobjekt des modernen Möbeldesigns und wirkt zugleich wie ein Manifest der De Stijl-Gruppe, der unter anderem der Maler Piet Mondrian angehörte. Der Stuhl erscheint hier als abstrakte Konstruktion aus farbigen Flächen und Linien im Raum. Rietveld orientierte sich am traditionellen massiven Armlehnstuhl, dessen Form er mit Hilfe von Platten und Kanthölzern nachzeichnete. Der Originalstuhl wird unter der weltweiten exklusiven Lizenz von Cassina, Italien, produziert.
