Town Hall Khevenhüller City Palace
Here began the impressive rise of the princely house of Khevenhüller. Christoph Khevenhüller was the one who, together with his wife Elisabeth Mannsdorf, built this three-story Renaissance building with arcades in 1537. It became the birthplace (1538) of one of Europe's most significant diplomats: Hans Khevenhüller – Imperial Envoy at the court of Philip II of Spain, who was also honored to be admitted to the Order of the "Golden Fleece." What a historic building that the city chose as its town hall.
