In the museum, visitors can learn interesting facts about the living conditions and hardships of the people of Osterode from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, about everyday life in half-timbered buildings, the hustle and bustle of the market, the battles on the town wall and the cruelties of medieval justice. You will get to know the peculiar traditions of the guilds, learn about the contradictory thoughts and feelings of people in the Biedermeier period and much more. Children and adults can touch and experience history at hands-on stations.
