The Maison Romane, built in 1154, is one of the oldest examples of medieval civil architecture in Alsace. Its square floor plan, rusticated sandstone and small openings give it the appearance of a fortified tower, reminiscent of medieval castles. Listed as a historic monument since 1922, and restored in 2000-2001, the Maison Romane welcomes you by reservation to tell you all about its origins and life at the time of its construction...
