Der 1877 angelegte Friedhof zählt heute zu einem der schönsten Jugendstil Friedhöfe in Deutschland. Der Friedhof ist daher nicht ohne Grund ein beeindruckendes Kulturdenkmal.

Der Pforzheimer Hauptfriedhof gilt als einer der schönsten und besterhaltensten Jugendstil-Friedhöfe Deutschlands. Hier gibt es einen alten Baumbestand, endlose Alleen, alte gepflegte Familiengrabstellen und eine kulturelle Vielfalt neuer Gräber zerschmelzen zu einer sehenswerten Parkanlage. Es gibt ebenfalls einen jüdischen Teil auf dem Gelände. Auf dem Friedhof gibt es zahlreiche Führungen zu verschiedenen Schwerpunkten, zum Beispiel zu historischen Grabmälern, Vogelbeobachtung oder zu dem alten Baumbestand.
