A pillory built in the 16th century, of a prismatic block type, featuring a square base with five steps and an octagonal column shaft. It is topped with a cruciform element and a parallelepiped-shaped finial adorned with heraldic elements.
A pillory is of great decorative richness, possessing a capital and finial with anthropomorphic elements and the royal coat of arms along with the arms of the local lords, the Sampaio family. The pillory rests on a platform of five square-shaped steps. The base of the column is cylindrical and smooth, with four protruding pieces that seem to connect it to the upper step, resembling claws, and two upper octagonal moldings. The shaft has an octagonal section, adorned with floral motifs and half-spheres on alternating faces. The capital has the same section as the column, with four faces extended into arms resembling corbels, arranged in a cross, and topped with grotesque masks and floral motifs. The arms, one of which is mutilated, are situated in line with the smooth faces of the shaft. The finial consists of a quadrangular prism with fully carved faces. On two opposite faces, there is a shield with the "quinas" (Portuguese royal coat of arms) and the arms of the Sampaios, the former lords of the town. On the remaining faces, there is a female figure with folded hands and two faces, one with a beard and crown, displaying an archaic style. This block is crowned by a small carved cylinder.
The monument belongs to the Bragança-style pillories, characterized by the corbelled capitals, which are very common in the region. The most interesting ones for comparison would be those of Algoso, Chacim, Outeiro, and Vale de Prados.
