Les vestiges protohistoriques de Verschier sont attribuables à la culture du Rhône (Bronze ancien, 2200 à 1500 avant J.-C.). Ils se composent d’une nécropole fouillée en 1835. En tout, une centaine d’individus y ont été inhumés. La nécropole devait dépendre d’un habitat qui n’a pas encore été identifié.
