Römermuseum Schwarzenacker im Saarpfalz-Kreis
Etwa um Christi Geburt erbauten die Römer im heutigen Schwarzenacker eine Siedlung, die erst 275 n. Chr.
durch Alemannen zerstört wurde. Die Römerstadt soll die Ausmaße des mittelalterlichen Worms erreicht haben
und beherrschte das Markttreiben der fruchtbaren Umgebung. Verkehrsgünstig an den damaligen römischen
Heer- und Handelsstraßen gelegen, gelangte die römische Stadt im 1. und 2. Jahrhundert nach Chr. zur vollen
wirtschaftlichen Blüte. Im heutigen Museum sind neben zahlreichen unterschiedlichen Gegenständen auch
rekonstruierte Häuser zu besichtigen, so auch zwei Straßen mit Bürgersteigen, das Haus des Augenarztes und das so genannte Säulenkellerhaus.

Im Edelhaus des Römermuseums befindet sich seit 2003 eine Galerie, in der unter dem Titel „Johann Christian von Mannlich und die Pfalz – Zweibrücker Malerei aus dem 18. Jahrhundert“ rund 30 Gemälde ausgestellt sind.
