Pilgrim walks in the Westerwald

A varied pilgrimage route awaits you on paved and natural paths. Along the way, information boards provide insights into the life and work of Saint Katharina Kasper.

The Marburg-Cologne Pilgrimage Route leads us from the grave church of Saint Elisabeth in Marburg through western Hesse, the Siegerland, and the Bergisches Land to the cathedral city of Cologne.

A beautiful pilgrimage route that serves as a feeder over the former border of the Archdiocese of Paderborn into the Archdiocese of Cologne. Marked with feeder route signs "yellow shell on blue background." It runs along paths of the former "thorn hedge," which separated the principalities in the Middle Ages. It passes the old Jakobs pilgrimage site Römershagen. The pilgrimage route ends as a feeder at the "Red Chapel" in Friesenhagen. It is thus a feeder from the Wendish area (Dörnscheid local route) to the Jakobsweg (Elisabeth Path) to Cologne. Pilgrim stamps are available at the start at the Dörnscheid Marian Chapel and at the endpoint in Friesenhagen at the "Red Chapel."
