This is the Way of St. James from Lennestadt-Elspe in Sauerland to the Rhineland. It essentially follows the old Heidenstraße, an important east-west route which led from Leipzig to Cologne. This pilgrimage route creates the connection from the Way of St. James Paderborn - Elspe to Cologne. From there, it is possible to continue pilgriming towards France in order to reach the ultimate goal, Santiago de Compostela.
