An ancient route of about 190 km that connects Pavia to Pontremoli along the Trebbia Valley, passing through Emilia-Romagna.

From Bobbio, crossing the magnificent Gobbo bridge that spans the Trebbia, you ascend in altitude up to the Generali saddle and exceed 1200 meters. A challenging stage due to the elevation gain and the heat. You arrive at Nicelli where we stayed overnight and dined at the farm stay Le Sarmase in a quiet and family-friendly environment (recommended).

We leave the hills of Oltrepo Pavese and venture into the Piacenza Apennines, a rather long stage with good elevation gain and a climb to Pan Perduto for a beautiful view of the Trebbia valley, arrival in Bobbio where Saint Columbanus is buried in the old Abbey, overnight stay and dinner at the pilgrim house near the Abbey (Recommended)
