The 10 most beautiful offers in Ullensvang

Via Ferrata Courses & Organized routes · Hardanger
Cliff Camping with Via Ferrata COMBO
18 Hours
Spend the night in a hanging tent suspended on a cliff above the fjord.  Through the flames of the bonfire you gaze at the spectacular glacier views ahead of you. During this activity, you will spend the night in a portaledge tent suspended on a cliff overlooking the fjord. These tents were developed by professional climbers for multi-day climbs. Since you are accompanied by an experienced guide, you don’t need prior climbing experience – just a good sense of adventure! To reach our camp we will climb the Tyssedal Via Ferrata along side the old penstocks and the old road of the "Rallars", the people who build the hydropower facilities. This climb will give you an amaxing view over Sørfjorden and give you plenty of air underneath your feet. The climb takes a couple of hours and the reward will be our camp on top. Once you reach camp, your guide will show you around the area. You then have time to enjoy this beautiful piece of Norwegian nature and take a wander around.  Dinner is prepared at camp and served by the bonfire – if the weather allows for it. You spend the evening with stories and amazing views before you climb down into your tent hanging on the cliff side 400m above Sørfjorden overlooking Folgefonna Glacier. After a beautiful evening and night out in the wilderness, you will be served breakfast before you pack up and hike back to civilization. Activity level: Challenging if afraid of heights

Cliff Camping
18 Hours
Spend the night in a hanging tent above the fjord The hike to your accommodation is a beautiful little path that takes you around 1h and opens up to spectacular glacier views. Once you reach camp, your guide will show you around the area. You then have time to enjoy this beautiful piece of Norwegian nature and take a wander around. A typical Norwegian outdoor dinner is prepared at camp and served in our shelter with wooden benches and table or by the bonfire – depending on the weather conditions. You spend the evening with stories and amazing views before you climb down into your tent hanging on the cliff side 400m above Sørfjorden overlooking Folgefonna Glacier. You can either choose to climb down the rope ladder or abseil into your portaledge tent, your guide will assist and secure you.  During the night you lie comfortably snuggled up in your warm sleeping bag. For safety reasons you keep your climbing harness on throughout the night, they are very thin though so you hardly feel them. We provide you with a radio that you can use to call your guide with in case you need to get out of the tent throughout the night. If the weather allows it, you can choose to leave the tent uncovered in order to gaze at the endless sky above you while falling asleep with the soundscape of the majestic mountains around you. After your night out in the wilderness, your guide prepares a nice breakfast for you before you hike back down into civilization. The so-called portaledge tents were developed by professional climbers for multi-day climbs.Since you are accompanied by an experienced guide, you don’t need prior climbing experience – just a good sense of adventure! Optional add-on: Instead of hiking up to the cliff camp, we also offer the option to climb Tyssedal Via Ferrata which starts by the fjord with a visit of the Norwegian Museum of Hydropower and Industry. Winter tours
3 Days
Experience the winter mountains of Hardangervidda up close with a hands-on adventure designed to make you feel confident and safe outdoors. Wide-open landscapes, low winter sun, and endless views create a sense of freedom—but the winter mountains can also feel unpredictable. We offer winter tours on request for anyone who wants to enjoy the wilderness while learning the skills to travel safely on their own. This is not a classroom course, and it’s not just a ski trip. It’s a practical outdoor experience where learning happens in real conditions. You’ll practice making decisions, discuss choices, and understand why certain routes or moves make sense. Winter adventures always carry some risk, but the right knowledge and experience make it much safer. The program can be adjusted depending on weather or snow, because learning to travel safely is part of the experience. If you’ve ever thought, “I should feel more confident before heading into the winter mountains,” this is the chance to make it happen. An adventure that gives you the experience. A course that gives you confidence.

Cliff camping Light
1 Day
Ever heard of Cliff Camping? Where people sleep in a hanging tent suspended on a cliff high up in the air? Maybe too extreme for you? As our new unique place to stay, we have created a Cliff Camping light version for all those, who would like to get that little thrill and excitement of sleeping up in the air with the comfort of knowing that you're just 2m above the ground. Suspended just about 2m above the ground on a sunny balcony above the fjord, you get to sleep in a very comfortable and unqie type of hammock that is attached to the rock. The so-called portaledge tents were initially invented by professional climbers to be used on multi-day big wall climbs. We want to make this experience accessible for everyone who would like to get a taste of this extreme type of camping. You are welcome to bring your own camping equipment since sleeping & cooking gear is not included. Alternatively you can rent everything from us against surcharge. The small campground in Fresvik, just 20 minutes from the starting point of Trolltunga and the city centre of Odda, offers incredible views over the Hardangerfjord and Folgefonna Glacier on the other side. A small path leads down to the fjord where you can chill in the sunshine, take a swim in the refreshing water, or try your luck at fishing. There's a covered seating area with couches and tables by the fjord which you are welcome to use. The campground possesses a small container building with sinks, toilets, showers, a washing machine, and a water boiler. Next to your tent camp you can find a seating area where you can make a bonfire if it's not too dry, please check the Norwegian weather forecast on "yr weather" to see if there's a fire ban. If in doubt, just reach out to us. You can check in by yourself. Just leave your car on the parking spot with the "Cliff Camper"-sign and walk the path along the street and then towards the right to the upper terrace. In case you have rented gear from us, it will be set up with your hanging tent. One of us, or Joar, the land owner, usually walks around in the evening to check if everything's okay on the little campground. We're super happy to meet you personally, give you some recommendations for the area or spend some time fishing down by the fjord. What is included:- Hanging Tent with rain cover- Toilet facilities and shower What can be rented: - Warm sleeping bags and liner (150 NOK)- Bergans foam sleeping mats extreme (100 NOK)- Sheep skins for extra insulation and ambiance (150 NOK)- Pillows (50 NOK)- Cooking set with 1-plate camping stove, pot, pan & kettle, cutlery & dishes (200 NOK) Total camping package: 650 NOK Let us know via message if you would like to rent anything, payment on site.
