Between Rheinbach and Euskirchen, near the village of Kirchheim, lies the Steinbachtalsperre in an extensive forest area. A 3 km paved lakeside path leads around the lake, and the shore is accessible in some places.  Attractions of the recreational area include the forest outdoor pool with a swimming pool and paddling or non-swimmer pool, as well as a water slide and diving tower facility a large children's playground a beach volleyball court the Steinbach forest inn with its own brewery and beer garden a nature trail with natural history display boards; it is suitable for young families with strollers as well as for wheelchair users.

Wandern von der Eifel bis ins Rheinland Der rund 100 km lange Römerkanal von Nettersheim nach Köln ist eine fast zweitausend Jahre alte ingenieurtechnische Meisterleistung. Dem Wasserfluss von früher folgt der “modernisierte”  116 km lange Römerkanal-Wanderweg entlang der Relikte des Römerkanals auf insgesamt 7 Etappen. Entlang des Weges sind über 50 neue Informationstafeln an römischen Relikten installiert.
