Nature trails in Dalaas

The legend hiking trail tells of legends and myths which often revolved around the miners who used to live at Kirstberg and Bartholomäberg in Montafon, as well as Christian events and moral transgressions. Along exciting locations in the former mining area, the path mostly runs through shady forest but also offers beautiful views into the Verwall and Silbertal.

The Bartholomäberg and the Silbertal are richly blessed with ores. Once this was the most important mining area in Vorarlberg. The peak period lasted from the 13th to the 16th century, but the beginnings probably go back even further. The path crosses two mining areas and leads to many visible traces. The cultural landscape as it is seen today also originated as a result of mining. To supply the miners with food, farmers were needed who practiced agriculture here. Since 2012, part of the area has been a protected cultural monument.

Walk the Green Ring Route and enjoy the beautiful landscape and artistical illustrations along the way. You can enjoy the hike and three various and unique legs.

The route combines hiking, nature experience, and culinary delights. The starting point of the summit route is the mountain station of the Kristbergbahn. High up, the path leads relaxed through the mining-shaped landscape. Through the mystical Muttwald, past blueberry bushes and alpine roses, the route leads to Muttjöchle with wonderful views of the Montafon mountains and the Arlberg.

The longest stage of the Green Ring is also the most varied. It takes you past Lake Zürs, over the Madlochjoch pass and into the Zug Valley.

This interactive, multimedia legend hike at the Montafon Kristberg cable car takes visitors into the fascinating and mysterious world of the Silbertal. Visitors are accompanied by a hiker and the Silbertal little devil, who share legends such as the legend of the misfortune tunnel of the Agatha Chapel or the night folk. While visitors listen to the captivating legends, they can enjoy breathtaking views during the hike.
