The hike to Muttjöchle is a beautiful summit hike that rewards you with a fantastic panoramic view in the Verwall. This leisurely hike through the Muttwald up to the summit invites you to enjoy and relax. But not only the hike to the summit becomes a pleasure, also at your stop at the Panoramagasthof Kristberg you can pamper yourself with regional delicacies in cozy Montafon atmosphere.
If the hike is too short for you, you can simply continue to Sonnenkopf on the Muttjöchle circular hike via the Upper and Lower Wasserstubenalpe and the Wild Ried raised bog back to Kristberg.

The starting point of the summit route is the mountain station of the Kristbergbahn. From here, the path sometimes goes up, sometimes down, but always relaxed through the mining-shaped landscape. Through the shady Muttwald, past blueberry bushes and alpine roses, it goes up to the summit of Muttjöchle with great views of the Montafon mountains and the Arlberg.

Country buses run throughout Montafon. The main lines run every half hour from Schruns train station.

Travel by train to Montafon
From Bludenz train station, the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) or Bregenz.

Directions
On the A14, take the Bludenz/Montafon motorway exit and follow the L188 into Montafon. After crossing the railway line, turn left at the next junction. Now follow the road to the roundabout. From here follow the signs to Silbertal to the parking lot opposite the Kristbergbahn.

Parking is available at the valley station of the Kristbergbahn (paid).
