Above Závažná Poruba, on Veratín Hill (882 m), Celtic fortifications stood more than two thousand years ago. The educational trail "Traces of Ancestors in Veratín" leads to them in an easy circuit (approx. 4.6 km) from the parking lot under Ski Opalisko, which takes about two to three hours with children. The Hrádok locality in the Liptovský Ján cadastral area, which is administered by the Závažná Poruba land registry office, is a national cultural monument, registered in the Central Register of Monuments under No. 2169/1,2.

The Horné Lazy observation tower is the second highest observation tower in Slovakia. After climbing 192 steps, you reach a height of 39.6 m, where you will be enchanted by beautiful panoramic views of the entire Low Tatras – from Kráľova hoľa to Banská Bystrica, the royal town of Brezno, the Horehronie valley, and the Veporské mountains.
