Mountain hikes in Predoi

The Ahrner Kopf is an easy-to-climb 3000-meter peak in the innermost Ahrntal between Dreiherrnspitze and Rötspitze with excellent panoramas.

After a long approach, this distinctive and scenic border mountain is climbed (scrambled) via its blocky south ridge.

On the fourth day, the route is coming to an end. On this stage, you are above 2000 meters for a long time and the highest point – the 2679-meter-high Windbachscharte – is crossed. Snow may still lie here even in high summer.

The ascent to the Schneespitze goes through the Knuttental to the Brunnerhütte and into the Alprechscharte. Especially from the Brunnerhütte, it is very impressive scenically with a magnificent summit panorama.

From Krimml to the Krimml Waterfalls into the Krimml Achental to the Krimmler Tauernhaus, further via the Birnlücke to the Birnlückenhütte, then via the Lausitzer Way to the Krimmler Tauern. Continue past the Eissee to the Richterhütte and back over the Tauernhaus to Krimml.

In six days, the high alpine circular hike leads through the regions of Salzburg, Tyrol and South Tyrol.

A challenge for all extreme mountain hikers: 40 kilometres in 19 hours, 2,700 m ascent, 2,900 m descent. If you set off early in midsummer, you will still arrive in daylight. If you undertake the tour, you should consider doing it in this direction: the most difficult passage, the crossing of the Keilbachjoch and the descent under the Keilbachbrettern, can only be tackled late in the evening when you are already tired. But one thing is certain: Lukas and Anna from the Kasseler Hütte will take excellent care of the extreme hiker.
