From the roof of the Swabian Jura to the "Grand Canyon", the breakthrough valley of the Upper Danube, leads the first quality hiking trail of the Swabian Jura, the Donauberglandweg. The "Lemberg", with 1015 meters the highest mountain of the Jura, is the starting point of an approximately 60-kilometer-long excellent hiking trail along the Jura escarpment on the southwest Jura down to Beuron, the world-famous abbey town and center of the Upper Danube Nature Park.

    Donau-Zollernalb-Weg - Etappe 5. Ein toller Familienspaziergang mit vielen interessanten Dingen am Wegesrand für die Kinder. Tolle Aussicht über das Tal, durch Wälder zum Abkühlen und gutes Essen von lokalen Restaurants. Etappe führt der Donau-Zollernalb-Weg von Veringenstadt am Schloss Hettingen vorbei über einen panoramareichen Weg durchs Teufelstor bis nach Gammertingen.

    Wunderbare Landschaft im Herbst Ich bin den Weg vom 14. bis 16. Oktober 2019 gegangen und habe die vorgeschlagenen Etappen etwas abgewandelt. Die letzten drei Etappen habe ich an zwei Tagen gemacht (in Fridingen/Bahnhof geendet und am nächsten Tag dort wieder gestartet; Übernachtung in Mühlheim, wo man gut mit Bus oder Bahn hinkommt). Das Wetter war hervorragend, strahlend blauer Himmel und warm, ein phantastisches herbstliches Farbenspiel, was sicher zum positiven Gesamteindruck beigetragen hat. Insgesamt eine schöne und abwechslungsreiche Tour mit wunderschönen Aussichten bis zu den Alpen, mit einer atemberaubenden (Fels-)Landschaft und interessanten Städtchen als Etappenzielen. Der Weg ist durchgängig gut markiert, wenn man auch manchmal mit den unterschiedlichen Entfernungsangaben hadert. Die Auf- und Abstiege haben es allerdings in sich, da man in der Regel im Zickzack einen steinigen Pfad hoch oder runter muss. Das ist insbesondere bei dem langen Weg von der Dreifaltigkeitskirche nach Spaichingen etwas ärgerlich. Die Wege waren trotz des guten Wetters (es hat nur einmal nachts geregnet) zum Teil arg seifig, so dass ich froh war, diese Wege nicht bei wirklich schlechtem Wetter gehen zu müssen. Das kann den Gesamteindruck aber nur wenig schmälern und reicht nicht für einen Sternabzug. Tolle Landschaft, gute Unterkünfte, leckeres Essen und Trinken. Unbedingt empfehlenswert! Martin Löning

    Wunderschöne Tour auf meist schmalen Pfaden. Der kurze Abstecher zur Ruine Kallenberg lohnt wirklich und begeistert hat uns auch die riesige Höhle unterhalb von Schloss Bronnen. Dort führt der Pfad auch durch eine sehr urwüchsige Pflanzengesellschaft - urig schön. Beeindruckend auch die Lage von Kloster Beuron.

    Nachdem ich gestern mein Wanderung über 320 km auf dem Hohenzollernweg, samt allen Nebenetappen, beendet habe, hier mein Fazit: Der Hohenzollernweg ist über weite Strecken ein wunderschöner Wanderweg mit einer unglaublichen Zahl von Sehenswürdigkeiten, Ausblicken und Eindrücken. Am besten gefallen haben mir (natürlich) das Donautal von Sigmaringen nach Beuron, die Etappe von Meßstetten nach Schömberg, die Etappe von Hechingen-Stein nach Killer mit der Burg Hohenzollern, die Nebenstrecke Sigmaringen nach Frohnstetten durch das Schmeietal, die Nebenstrecke von Albstadt nach Balingen sowie die Strecke von Sulz-Glatt nach Haigerloch. Der einzige Kritikpunkt für mich war die teilweise fehlende bzw. absolut unzulängliche Beschilderung des Wanderweges. Hier sollte sich ein Beispiel an der vorbildlichen Beschilderung der Etappe von Balingen nach Rosenfeld genommen werden. Alles in allem ein sehr schöner Wanderweg, den ich gerne wieder einmal wandern werde.
