We have open beer and wheat beer, homemade juices and mountain herbal teas to quench your thirst, salads and vegetable variations, cheese, bacon and sausage from the Lesach Valley, as well as hearty dishes from the local butcher's. For the g`lust we offer fantastic apple strudel, herbal schnapps, Zotter chocolate and a considerable selection of wines.

Welcome to the Wolayersee Hut! A refuge of the Alpenverein Austria In the heart of the Carnic Alps, surrounded by impressive peaks such as Hohe Warte, Seewarte and the massive Seekopf, lies the Wolayerseehütte (1,960 m) on the beautiful lake of the same name. The Wolayerseehütte is not only an important base of the Carnic High Trail and a popular destination for hikes up from the valley - it is also a course location for climbing training at all levels of difficulty. There are two climbing gardens and about 70 climbing routes equipped with bolts from the 4th to the 8th degree of difficulty. Two via ferrata routes also lead to the Hohe Warte and around the lake you will find many interesting and interesting facts on the Geo-Trail. Around the Wolayerseehütte there are of course a lot of beautiful adventure possibilities - leisurely hikes as well as challenging summit ascents. The hosts have just the right tip for you. Tröpolacher Alm
The Tröpolacher Alm at 1,668 meters above sea level serves as a starting point for countless hikes, especially noting the wonderful view over the Gailtal valley. The hut offers overnight accommodations, and a tour of the cheese factory and barn is possible upon prior registration. Warm meals such as Frigga, bacon with eggs, goulash soup, and Kaiserschmarrn are also offered. Upon request, we also offer you a great hiking breakfast. Hiking Tip: Hike to the Hüttenkofel Zweikofel

Klein Kordin Alm
Where the Cows Have "Sponsors" In the alpine pasture, besides the Gailtal Alpine Cheese g.U., you can expect other cheese delicacies from the alpine dairy. Whether it's the Gailtal Almschotten, creamy yogurt, white mold cheese from the best alpine milk, or a flavorful semi-hard cheese, let these hand-crafted products melt on your palate. After a hearty alpine snack, there is an opportunity to hike to the nearby local mountains, Hochwipfel or Schulterkofel. For those who wish to undertake a day tour in our area, the cheese circular hiking trail is recommended. A tip for long-distance hikers: our alpine pasture is located directly on the Karnischer Höhenweg 403. Anyone can take on a sponsorship for a cow at the beautiful Klein Kordin Alm for a season. It costs a small fee but creates closeness to the alpine pasture and its products. Each sponsor receives a cheese package with Gailtal Alpine Cheese g.U. at the end of the season, and here a true cheese master, Herbert Wassertheurer, is at work.The Klein Kordin Alm can be reached via Stranig and further through the Straniger Alm. On a well-maintained gravel road, you will reach the Klein Kordin Alm, passing the Straniger Alm. Due to its gentle incline towards the Klein Kordin Alm, it is also possible to hike the path with small children.

Großfrondell Alm
The Großfrondell Alm is managed by the Agrarian Community of Großfrondell Alpe and is located at an altitude of 1,530 m above sea level. A total of 12 dairy cows are kept for the production of Gailtaler Almkäse g.U., as well as for Schotten, alpine butter, and quark. The Großfrondell Alm is also well-suited for chamois hunting and has a high population of black grouse, roe deer, marmots, and red deer. From the Großfrondell Alm, a historically significant tour can start to the Köderkopf height, where the front line was during the First World War and many positions can still be seen. Here, the Karnische Höhenweg (KHW 403) runs along the ridge of the Carnic Alps. From there, you also have a wonderful view of the adjacent Italian mountain landscape and the characteristic mountain peaks towards the Plöckenpass. The Großfrondell Alm can be reached by car via Kronhof. Just before the Untere Bischof Alm, the road to the Großfrondell Alm branches off. It is open from mid-June until the alpine drive!

Achornacher Alm
Achornacher Alm The Achornacher Alm is located sheltered in a basin at the foot of the Findenigkofel below the Karnische Höhenweg. At the hut, you will be treated to a lovingly prepared snack with Gailtal Alpine cheese. In the lush alpine meadows around the hut, dairy cows graze, and with a bit of luck, you might also spot playful marmots.Alpine products: Gailtal Alpine cheese g.U., Schotten, alpine butter, soft cheese The Achornacher Alm is accessible via Stranig and the Straniger Alm, passing the Waidegger Alm along a well-maintained gravel road. A marked hiking trail, also appreciated by mountain bikers, leads directly from Zollner to the hut.Access (gravel road) through the villages of Stranig or Goderschach (16 km). Tip:Mountain biking on the popular bike trail from Nölbling via Zollnersee to Stranig, which passes directly by the Alm.
