Welcome to the Winnebachsee Hut!
No matter whether you reach the hut in a brisk 1½ hours or take your time and enjoy the hike over 3 or 4 hours—the journey is part of the destination.
Once you reach the top, you’ll quickly forget your little exertion on our sun terrace overlooking a gigantic waterfall, or in our cozy lounge. We’ll be happy to treat you to a variety of home-cooked meals prepared with love, as well as refreshing or warming drinks.
Our hut is a popular destination for hikers who want to enjoy the alpine landscape with its mountain lake and waterfall. It also serves as a base for mountaineers looking to climb one or more of the numerous peaks or continue on to other huts. In winter, ski tourers and snowshoers appreciate our small hut, far from the trendy peaks.
Our hut is part of the “Mit Kindern auf Hütten”(With Children at Mountain Huts) campaign, an initiative by the Alpine Clubs in Germany, Austria, and South Tyrol promoting family-friendly huts. It is suitable for children ages 7 to 8 and older. Things to do: In summer—goats; streams, a shallow lake, and boulders offering plenty of play opportunities; a climbing garden (10 minutes away). In winter—a popular ski-touring area; access restricted to experienced and skilled hikers only under safe conditions
We look forward to welcoming you:
Michael and Nina Riml with their children Lukas and Judith, along with our loyal team!!!
