Das Schutzhaus Waxeneck ist Etappenziel des Wegs am Wiener Alpenbogen. Von Pernitz führt die Etappe in sechs Stunden an der Wasserwelt Myrafälle Muggendorf vorbei zum Waxeneckhaus.

Anreise aus dem Triesting- oder Piestingtal. In beiden Fällen über die A2, Südautobahn, Ausfahrt, bei Anreise Triestingtal, Leobersdorf oder Wöllersdorf, bei Anreise über Piestingtal.
Triestingtal: Leobersdorf - Hirtenberg - Berndorf - Pottenstein;
Piestingtal: Wöllersdorf - Markt Piesting - Waldegg - Pernitz;
Pernitz und Pottenstein sind durch die Landesstraße 148 verbunden. Im Volksmund fährt man "über den Hals". Auf dem Hals abzweigen zum Schutzhaus Waxeneck (der Beschilderung folgen).
