Mandolinka je postavená blízko hlavného hrebeňa Veľkej Fatry, medzi Koniarkami a Suchým vrchom. Tu odbočuje na severozápad žltá značka cez Revúcky mlyn do Necpalskej doliny. Salaš sa nachádza asi 500 metrov po žltej značke, na kraji smrekového lesa. Je to mierne z kopca, najprv lúkou, potom pomedzi riedke smreky. V hmle je orientácia trochu obtiažna, hlavne v zime. V lete je tam nevýrazný chodník a slabšie značenie. Ale salaš sa prehliadnuť nedá.
